Peace Missionary Bajrush Shaqiri, now, recently, received the gold medal “Excellent Activist of Humanity”. Bajrushi, a Kosovo student, comes from the village of Terpez in the municipality of Viti. He graduated from the Faculty of Mathematical and Natural Sciences, University of Prishtina.

Baj, as an influence of the pressure of time that may be in the former Yugoslavia, part of which was Kosovo, like many young people, you had to take the path of the curve for the whole family, but also with the conviction that from Switzerland where will move will contribute more to the homeland.
And time proved this, Bajrushi became one of the pillars of emigration to Kosovo of his country.
He, in the first years in Switzerland, although an emigrant, was immediately engaged in education, as a teacher in the Albanian schools of Geneva.
Bajrushi, at the same time, was part of the Presidency of LAPSH “Naim Frashëri” in the Canton of Geneva.
Bajrush Shaqiri, from Geneva, devoted more than half of his life to education and humanism and today he is an example of integration and success in the Albanian Community in Switzerland.
In one of the newspapers of the time, Bajrushi recalls:
“At the Geneva airport we met with four members of the Swiss Trade Unions (SIT) … And on May 10, 1999, on a voluntary basis, I did not hesitate to go to Skopje to help withdraw Albanian refugees from the camp. expelled from Kosovo who lived in extremely difficult conditions, even for bread “, – the humanist and activist of the national cause Bajrush Shaqiri tells” drini.us “.
The efforts of Bajrush Shaqiri, together with the Swiss trade unionists, achieved their goal, and, on the afternoon of May 20, 1999, they filled the plane with 147 refugees in the direction of Geneva. The Swiss newspaper “Tribune de Geneve” (May 17, 1999) wrote about this humanitarian mission of Bajrush Shaqiri and the representatives of the SIT Union at that time, which was later followed by a book “Le vol impossible: Saga d’un charter kosovar”. , by author Michel Buhrer.
Professor Bajrush Shaqiri would never be satisfied with work alone devotion to his family, tribe and relatives, he undoubtedly continues his path of charity, together with other friends and patriots of the diaspora, contributing money to build many houses in the Municipality of Viti, Kosovo, but also providing scholarships for children of families in need, from Kosovo and all Albanian lands.
Recognized as a Peace Missionary and Distinguished Humanity Activist by the Diplomatic Mission for Peace and Prosperity, the lifelong professor is very modest and does not like to talk about his charities.
However, the humanitarian activity of Bajrush Shaqiri speaks for itself and has already been engraved in gold letters in the service of peace and prosperity.
